Answer: He was defeated by his nephew in a battle

Option c is the correct answer. Jahandar Shah was a Mughal Emperor who ruled from 1712 to 1713. He was defeated in the battle at Samugarh (a city near Agra) by his nephew Farrukhsiyar, on 10 January 1713 with the support of the Sayyid Brothers. Farrukhsiyar proclaimed himself the Mughal emperor after the battle. Important Tips Farrukhsiyar (1713-1719): He became the king of Mughal kingdom with the help of Sayyid brothers. The Saiyyad brothers, sometimes known as the "kingmakers" Saiyyad Abdullah Khan (Wazir) and Hussain Ali Khan, helped him gain the throne. Farrukhsiyar behaved like a mere puppet in the hands of Sayyid brothers and when he resisted against their control, he was deposed and executed by the latter.
