Important Tips
Rana Hamir Singh, a 14th-century Hindu Rajput ruler of Mewar, Rajasthan, reclaimed the region from the Tughlaq dynasty, becoming the first Maharana of Mewar. His reign saw Mewar successfully withstand Turkic invasions. He built the Annapoorna Mata temple and Roopnarayan Ji temple in Chittor. Rana Chunda was the eldest son of Maharana Lakha, the ruler of Marwar. He is known in history for his sacrifice of his rights to the throne, to keep his promise. He was the heir-apparent until he renounced his right in favour of the heir born from Hansa Bai, the Rathore princess who was married to Maharana Lakha. Malik Ahmad Raja Faruqi founded the Khandesh Sultanate in Central India (1382-1601). After 17 years as ruler, he died and was succeeded by his son, Nasser Khan. The Sultanate had a Persianate society and promoted Islam peacefully. It was annexed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1601.
