Statement 1 is incorrect- Around 3rd and 4th centuries CE, there was a ruling family known as the Ikshvaku dynasty. They lived in the eastern part of India near the Krishna River. These rulers were followers of the god Shiva and practiced old rituals.
Statement 2 is correct- In ancient times, there was a large group known as the Pala Empire. They lived in the northern and northeastern parts of India. These leaders were big supporters of Buddhism and did many good things for it. They also built important places where Buddhists could learn, like Odantapura, Vikramashila, and Somapura.
