Amir Khusrau was a Sufi musician, writer, poet, and scholar during the Delhi Sultanate period. He was one of the favourite disciples of great Sufi saint Nizamuddin Auliya. Khusrau is known as 'father of qawwali'. He is credited with introducing Perso-Arabic ragas like Gora and Sanam into India.
