Answer: Birth of Buddha
Option a is the correct answer.
The Rummindei Pillar of Ashoka was erected to mark the birth of Buddha. This pillar, located at Lumbini in Nepal, has an inscription in ancient Brahmi script. The inscription provides evidence that Ashoka, the Mauryan emperor, visited Lumbini and identified it as the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. To commemorate the birthplace of the Buddha, he gave tax concessions to the villagers. It records that the village of Lumbini was exempted from bali and was to pay only one-eighth of bhaga.
